FSIP Services – Overview.
Flight Systems Industrial Products (FSIP) is committed to providing its customers with products and services that are the best in the electric vehicle industry. To that end, we offer four distinct services to support your business: Manufacturing, Remanufacturing, General Repairs, and Electric System Design. In this 7-part blog series, released weekly, we will cover each of them in detail.
Manufacturing (Part II & III)
FSIP is a premier Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider. But what does that mean? It means, FSIP provides value-added manufacturing and engineering services to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). We specialize in box build assembly, coil & bobbin winding, cable assemblies & wire harnesses, as well as metal machining.
You may ask, why would an OEM look to outsource their manufacturing? Multiple reasons.
- Production flexibility (prototype to full-scale production)
- Engineering support
- Improved operational efficiencies
- Extended partnerships/sourcing
- Quality Standards & Testing procedures
- Warranty & repairs
As you can see, there is a lot of ground to cover in Manufacturing. We’ll spend the next two weeks covering it. In Part II, we’ll examine how FSIP’s business model advances and enhances OEM operations. Then in Part III, we’ll discuss each area of expertise, what we do, and why it’s specialized.
Remanufacturing (Part IV)
Let’s start at the beginning. What is remanufacturing? [Electronic] Remanufacturing is a comprehensive and rigorous industrial process by which a previously sold, worn, or non-functional product or part is returned to a like-new or better-than-new condition – both in quality and performance perspectives.
Nice definition, right? What does a like-new or better-than-new condition mean? It means that your electronic vehicle part goes through root cause failure analysis. All components are tested and if a defect is found, it’s repaired or replaced. Additionally, all known faults are addressed. A known fault is a component that has a history or track record of failure. These parts are repaired/replaced prior to failure occurring. AND, if your part requires programming it is updated to the most current software. If this sounds too good to be true, it isn’t. It gets even better. If you purchase a remanufactured product from FSIP, you get a one-year warranty*, and the price is typically 50% less than buying new.

Core Purchasing Program (Part V)
FSIP wants your rebuildable electronic vehicle cores. If you have controllers, chargers, joysticks, or another type of electronic vehicle core that are old or not in use, and you want to sell them, we make it as easy as 1-2-3.
- Fill out the Core Purchasing Sheet
- Receive a Purchasing Quote. If you accept, return the core(s) to FSIP.
- Receive your payment/credit
What’s the benefit? You get cash/credit for old and worn-out parts and free up inventory space. FSIP remanufactures your old cores to a like-new quality and adds them to our inventory. When you need a specific part/component, our goal is to have the remanufactured item in-stock and ready to ship immediately — little to no wait times at approximately 50% the cost of new.
Supporting remanufacturing processes is just good practice. It gives old products new life, keeps them out of landfills longer, costs less, and provides a secondary procurement/sourcing stream when new parts are hard to find. Sounds like a winning proposition to me.
General Electronic Repairs (GRP – Part VI)
Remanufacturing sounds terrific. Unfortunately, not all products qualify for it. For those, FSIP has the General Repairs Program. There is a small upfront inspection fee prior to a point-to-point inspection being done by a mix of certified technicians and engineers. Once the inspection is completed, you’ll receive a formal repair quote.
Electric System Design (ESD – Part VII)
ESD is the one-stop solution for vehicle control system design. From project inception through implementation, FSIP integrates with your team to gain deeper application understanding, and then design & develop custom-tailored packages specific to your needs.
