FSIP in the Community

In September of 2013, Flight Systems Industrial Products (FSIP) established a Community Outreach Committee. Our goal in starting this committee was to identify ways for FSIP and its employees to give back to Carlisle and surrounding communities. The Community Outreach Committee consists of nine members, with representation from multiple departments throughout FSIP. The committee determines potential projects, identifies ways to maximize employee involvement and plans each outreach opportunity.

The first event sponsored by the Community Outreach Committee was a Winter Weather Wearables drive. Over a period of two weeks FSIP employees donated 16 coats, 23 pairs of gloves, 22 winter hats and 13 various winter weather clothing items. These donations were given to the Salvation Army in Carlisle for distribution to those in need.

We’ve also participated in the Salvation Army’s Adopt-a-Family holiday program. FSIP adopted two families and provided meals and presents for two single mothers and their five children at Christmas time. We will be adopting again for the 2014 holiday season.

In July of 2014 the committee held a community yard sale held to benefit Carlisle C.A.R.E.S. We took advantage of the large parking lot at the FSIP building and rented spaces to employees and the public. The rental fee for each space at the sale was donated to Carlisle C.A.R.E.S, a non-profit agency whose mission is to provide shelter to homeless individuals and families when no other shelter can be found.

Through the creation of this committee, we hope to not only give back to the community but also to gain increased employee morale and team unity.
